"Anyone who comes through that gate that ain't Mr. Kelley, you kill 'em! I don't care if it's your gran-jam's ghost! You put a bullet between their eye and you don't stop shootin' that rifle until you ain't got no bullets left! YOU UNDERSTAND!?"
Mayor Griffon barking orders to Oswald Cornet

Mayor Griffon's Mansion is a location featured in Red Dead Revolver and the location where the last three missions of the said game take place.

The mansion is mentioned by some NPC's in St. Dennis in Rootin' Tootin', Cowboy Shootin' and how lucky Griff is to live in such a palace.

Info[]

Mayor Grimm Griffon's Mansion was built even before the Mayor gained the massive wealth accumulated from his share of The Diablo Mine as he was known for taking large bribes from Jacques Dixmor and owned a lot of businesses in Brimstone. When he got his share of the gold from the Devil Mine, he only expanded his mansion. The mansion's size and construction rivals the White House and probably even Shao Kahn's Castle as it is by far the biggest, most extravagant and protected residence in the territory. It is located just outside of Brimstone and is heavily protected by the American Army and the Cornet Brothers.

Description[]

The mansion can be seen from within Brimstone throughout the game when Red Harlow is hanging around the town, and a dark, eerie and uncomfortable feel can be felt when staring at the mansion for too long. When the time is ripe and the game is almost completed, Harlow, Jack Swift and Annie MacFarlane storm the palace to get revenge on the Mayor. The final three missions of the game proceed from the mansion grounds, throughout the large building and finally onto the roof where Red and Mayor Griffon have an epic-boss battle.

The insides of the mansion (specifically the Mayor's Office) are seen prior to the three missions in at least one cutscene at the end of the mission "Hell Pass" where Buffalo Soldier gets imprisoned by Mr. Kelley under the Mayor's orders.

After the conclusion of the game's events, the former Mexican Army Private Jose Hernandez has a score to settle with the Cornet bros. after losing a game of Blackjack. The fool goes to the Mansion all alone and plans on wiping them out with some dynamite but gets killed by Kirk Cornet with a knife after being spotted by Jermone Cornet.

Layout[]

The mansion is located right before the Brimstone's train station, has a large gate, is very large and has a large, manicured, boxy lawn out the front with a central fountain and neatly trimmed hedges all around along with two gazebos at each side. Two wings extend towards on the front on both sides of the main entrance and stairs lead up to the second floor of each wing, where additional entrances are located including Mayor's office and one of the Cornet's bedrooms. The mansion has a balcony on the front just above the main door.

Inside, there is a large foyer with shiny, hardwood floors with rugs and two stuffed bears on either side of a central staircase. On top of the staircase is a large portrait of Mayor Griffon and the rooms to the left and right are filled with nice armoires and entrances to the balconies of the wings. Portraits of the mayor's wife and son can also be found in the hallways. To the left in the foyer is a large kitchen which leads into one wing where a small staircase ascends to the Cornet's bedroom while there is a dining room with a fireplace just below. Following the path next to the bedroom is a room with grandfather's clock where there is a secret passageway which leads to the basement, the living room and then to the next wing of the mansion where there is a library and possibly the Mayor's large-s bedroom. There is also the Mayor's office there and a small storage where Buffalo Soldier was taken capture.

Then there are the rooftops which led from the attic and the place of final showdown between Red and Mayor.

The mansion probably had more than one secret passage.

Journal Entry[]

Brimstone is the home to Mayor Grimm Griffon and of course, a man of his stature and status has to live in proper abode. Look no further than his mansion! Everyone noticed he went a little far by building a Mansion that would rival the White House and look like it, but no one had the balls to say it to his face, except maybe his wife. The mansion, behind its ornate facade, was built like a fort. With the U.S. Army and the Cornet brothers toothing around plus a whole arsenal of ammunition and guns, the Mayor is ready to fend off anyone. Being a rich man and swimming in gold, Griff has made himself a lot of enemies.

Known owners[]

  • Owner: Mayor Griffon (former), probably one of his grandsons today or grandnephews
  • Residents: Griffon, American Army, Cornet Brothers, today his relatives and descendants
  • Known people who desire to control it: Unknown, probably anyone with a lust for power and gold
