Earl Hollingsworth is a minor character featured in Red Dead Redemption part III, The New Life. He is also a minor villain in Red Dead Revolver 3dn edition.

Info[]

Not much is known of Earl's bio, except that he is a marshal who operates in West Virginia.

Interactions[]

Revolver[]

Earl is the last marshal to attack Jack Marston and his gang in the mission "Backyard".

He will be accompanied by Claud Benfiled.

Earl may be or not be killed by Marston or Boonie MacFarlane in the said mission. How he canonically died during the story is unknown.

The New Life[]

Earl plays a small role in the mission "Great Men are Not Always Wise", in which he is one of the marshals that participates in the attack on Tanner's Reach. Earl is also one of the marshals that accompanies Edgar Rose in the mission "The Last Enemy That Shall Be Destroyed".

Appearing in a random encounter, he may be the sole survivor of a crashed prison wagon. He will ask Marston to intercept the fleeing prisoners who killed his two men; lethal or otherwise. If Marstony succeeds, Earl will reward them with some money and chocolate candies before fleeing and being eaten by a nearby wildlife.

Earl can most often be found at the police station in Gold Town or around the hotel. If Marston has a bounty, Earl will track him to multiple locations around West Virginia and may shoot on sight.

Like most other law enforcers in the game, including the Marshals, Earl is very greedy and will allow Marston's crimes go unpunished and even unnoticed if he is paid the right sum of money. He is usually a miser and will mislook the player's crimes even for a small fee.

Death[]

Hollingsworth was killed by Wesley Allen on 3rd of June, 1906 or 94 BH in Gold Town by a shot to the head with a Double-action Revolver when Allen robbed a store.

Trivia[]

  • Earl has a very similar head as Marion Freel.
  • Stanley Palmer, a frequent player of poker in Gold Town hotel and a theatre guard, may sometimes comment that he has heard that Hollingsworth's daughter does not like men, implying she is a lesbian. Back in his time period, homosexuality would have been far less acceptable. Nevertheless, Earl loves his daughter no matter hwhat.
